Sweden - Stockholm in summer

Djurgården

Djurgården which means literally djur=animal and gården=garden is an island of 4km long and 1km wide. Historically it was the royal hunting grounds, where the animals were. It is now a vast park with the middle of Stockholm where it is very pleasant to walk. Its Western part is occupied by several museums, a theme park and restaurants whereas the other part of the island is partly covered by the forest or by large lawns.
